5 THINGS TO NEVER WEAR ON A DATE NIGHT:
1. AVOID WEARING CLOTHES THAT DON’T FIT CORRECTLY:
There is nothing worse than wearing clothes that are too big or too small. Wearing clothes that are too big will actually make you look bigger than you really are so don’t buy into the myth that wearing over-sized clothes will hide your flaws! On the other hand, wearing clothes that are too tight will not only make you look like you’re trying too hard but it creates a look that isn’t polished or chic. Utilize your tailor often so that you can ensure your clothes fit you the proper way. And if they no longer fit you then just get rid of them and let them bring someone else joy. Just remember, wearing clothes that hug your curves in all the right places will always help you to look like the best version of yourself.
This gorgeous ribbed midi dress is so slimming and hugs my curves in all the right places. Though this piece is form-fitting, it isn’t too tight which is exactly what we’re going for! I love this light green shade for spring, however, it comes in 4 different colors which are all so good. You might as well grab a couple different colors because this versatile dress is under $80 which is a great price point. It runs true to size, I’m wearing a small.
For a cool or breezy date night, layer the midi dress above with a gorgeous blazer like this one. This jacket actually resembles the Balmain blazer because of the slimming cut and luxe gold buttons yet is a fraction of the price. This one runs true to size, I’m wearing an XS.

2. DON’T WEAR ANYTHING THAT IS TOO REVEALING:
If you wear something that is too revealing it can send the wrong message, especially if you’re on a first date. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with dressing a little sexy but just make sure you do it in a tasteful way. One thing to keep in mind is the BALANCE rule meaning if you’re showing skin on the top you should cover the bottom portion of your body and vice versa as I’ve done in this look.
Since this top is tight and a bit on the sexy side, I always make sure that my jeans are a bit baggy so the look is well balanced! I’m obsessed with this unique top that just so happens to be one of my very favorite pieces to wear on a date night. It’s a gorgeous color and is so versatile. It runs true to size, I’m wearing an XS.
As you probably know by now, I’m a huge fan of Agolde denim because they’re just so comfortable and so good. They have tons of different styles to choose from, but like I said above, I went for a baggier pair for this specific look. Not to mention looser-fitting jeans are on-trend for this spring and summer. This is the perfect wash with just the right amount of distressing. They do run a bit big, so I suggest sizing down one size – I’m wearing a 24.

3. DON’T WEAR FLATS:
Ok, your heels don’t have to be 5-inch stilettos but any heel whether that be a 3-inch block heel or even a wedge will take your look up to the level! Not only will wearing a heel make you look taller and slimmer because it will elongate your legs it just looks sexier and better when you have a pair of heels and that’s exactly what we’re going for on a date.
This cardigan set also follows the balance rule listed above because I wore the cardigan over this cropped tank and paired it with the high-waisted denim. This created a simple and balanced look that doesn’t show too much skin which is exactly what I wanted. Both of these gorgeous spring pieces run true to size, I’m wearing an XS in both the cardigan and the tank.

4. DON’T WEAR JOGGERS:
I know that joggers are a thing now and are definitely one of 2021’s biggest trends but they are NOT appropriate for a date no matter how much you dress them up. They can end up looking frumpy and joggers just look too casual and like you didn’t put the effort into getting dressed up for the occasion. Instead, opt for a slimming pair of high-waisted jeans paired with a fabulous pair of heels of course and remember adding a third layer is another way to take your look up to the next level.
WHITE FAUX LEATHER JACKET:
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, faux leather is definitely the way to go if you’re looking for something affordable that still looks polished and chic! This white faux leather jacket from Express is super budget-friendly and such a good date night piece. I will be wearing this a ton in the upcoming months! It runs true to size, I’m wearing an XS.
SLIM STRAIGHT LEG JEANS:
These light wash jeans are some of my all-time favorites from Express because they’re super slimming, high-waisted and under $100! I think they look so perfect with white pieces because it creates a no-fail outfit formula for spring. I’m wearing a size 0 short in these jeans.

This super slimming and comfy maxi dress would be so perfect to wear on a first date or any date night! It follows the balance rule because it’s tight, however, it’s also long so it still looks tastefully sexy and age-appropriate. I feel confident and like the best version of myself when I wear this dress which is another one of the best rules a girl can follow. It runs true to size, I’m wearing an XS.

5. AVOID CHOOSING TO WEAR CLOTHES YOU DON’T FEEL CONFIDENT IN:
This is the most important tip, in fact, it’s so important that I just did an entire video on this subject titled: 7 TIPS TO LOOK AND FEEL MORE CONFIDENT (so be sure and check that out) is to only wear clothes that you feel confident in. Really pay attention to how you FEEL when you put something on. Do you feel special and beautiful, and like the best version of yourself? Are you showcasing your best features and camouflaging the not-so-great parts of your body? I happen to like my legs which is why I would totally feel comfortable and confident wearing this dress on a date. This is so important because if we feel confident when we put an outfit on this will be portrayed to the outside world and let’s face it, we all want to be confident when we’re out on a date and really any time in our lives, am I right?!
If you only remember one tip from today’s post let it be this:
WHENEVER YOU’RE GETTING DRESSED AND PUTTING ON AN OUTFIT MAKE SURE YOU FEEL CONFIDENT AND COMFORTABLE IN WHAT YOU’RE WEARING AND LIKE THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF. IF YOU LOOK AND FEEL GOOD ON THE OUTSIDE YOU WILL LOOK AND FEEL GOOD ON THE INSIDE WHICH WILL ALLOW YOU TO EXUDE CONFIDENCE AND CONFIDENCE IS OUR BEST ACCESSORY IN LIFE LADIES!
I happen to like my legs which is why I would totally feel comfortable and confident wearing this dress on a date. As you can see, this white dress follows the balance rule too because it’s short but since the top portion of my body is covered it is still tastefully sexy and age-appropriate. It runs true to size, I’m wearing a size 2.
