WHAT TO WEAR ON GAME DAY

One of the funnest things about fall is football season!  For those of you that know me, you know I’m not a huge lover of football, but I am a lover of fashion so deciding what to wear to a football game is the best part to me!

I have a daughter at Texas Tech, and a son at University of Alabama, a step daughter at University of Colorado, and a step son at Sewanee, yes I have 4 kids in college and all in different states! Also, I have a step son who plays high school football, I actually enjoy watching football when one of our kids is playing in the game!

I chose to feature red college game day apparel in honor of Texas Tech and Bama, #wreckem, #rolltide!

The most important item in a college game day outfit are the shoes because usually you’ll be doing a ton of walking so they need to be comfortable and it goes without saying that they need to be cute!  These Marc Fisher booties are both of those things, extremely comfortable for a bootie yet very stylish!  They come in 3 colors and have just been marked down 40% making them quite a steal and a definite must-have!  The black leather booties are sold out, but the black suede are still available in all sizes and I actually love the black suede more than the leather because they look more high-end, I wish I would have gotten the black suede!  They run true to size.

BLANKNYC MOTO JACKET:

I’ve featured many BlankNYC moto jackets on my blog before because they’re my absolute favorite moto jackets, I think I own at least 6 because they’re that amazing!  Blanknyc makes the best moto jackets EVER, all very high quality and the price point is AMAZING!  This exact jacket comes in 3 gorgeous colors, if you don’t already own a BLANKNYC jacket, trust me, you need to! This jacket runs true to size, I’m wearing an XS.  If you don’t already own a chic suede jacket this one would be a great addition to any wardrobe and for the price it’s a no brainer!

My uber slimming jeans are by AOLA, which is a very cool denim brand by Alice and Olivia and I’m obsessed with these!  They’re super high-rise so they make your legs look crazy long and they’re the perfect length to wear with booties!  This versatile gray wash is my personal favorite because they literally match everything.  They run tts, I’m wearing a size 25.

 PERSONAL TIP:  Make sure you carry a clear bag into the games, even if your bag is small you will NOT get into the game!  

FUNNY STORY:

Well maybe not at the time, I was actually the maddest I’ve ever been at my husband on this particular day.  Brett and I went to visit my son, Tyler, last year for a fun Alabama football game weekend and I couldn’t have been more excited to see Tyler and spend time with him.  On the day of the game, I had on comfortable-ish booties and was carrying a very small handbag that I actually carried last year to the game and they let me in.  The whole day my husband was telling me “you won’t be able to get into the game with that bag” and I was saying to him “yes I will, I did last year”, this argument went on and on pretty much all day long.

Well, after walking literally 3 miles to the game, I marched up to the gate sure I was going to get in with my small bag and was looking forward to turning around and telling my husband “I told you so”, lol!  However, if you haven’t already guessed, they didn’t let me into the game and I was devastated! Also, I just knew Brett was waiting to say “I told you so” but he knew better, however his facial expression said it all, we were both so angry at the situation and at each other!

I stormed off…

And after walking 3 miles back to the car there was NO WAY I could have turned around and walked another 3 miles back to game. Furthermore, I knew I had at least 3 hours to kill so I decided to do what any other angry wife would do that loves to shop, I drove to Birmingham and went to Saks Fifth Avenue!  I can laugh about this scenario now, but at the time I was very angry!  Lesson learned, never try and carry a small handbag into a college game, no matter how small!
