5 TIPS ON HOW TO LOOK THINNER + THE BEST LABOR DAY SALES
in Fashion on 03/09/2018
Happy Monday Friends! Who doesn’t want to know how to look thinner?! Well, one thing I know for sure is that you can either dress in ways to look slimmer or dress in ways to make you look bigger. I see it all the time on the streets, and with friends and family, some get it right and some don’t, so I thought I would share 5 easy tips on how to look thinner.

5 STYEL HACKS ON HOW TO LOOK THINNER:
1.) WEAR ALL BLACK:
As I did in one of these looks in today’s post. I love wearing all black, not only does it scream CHIC, but pieces that are black tend to look expensive even it there not. My Topshop cami that I’m wearing in both looks is only $30, yet it looks much more expensive than that. The reason all black is so slimming is because it’s one dark silhouette that naturally elongates the body which always seems slimmer to the naked eye.
2.) TUCK IN YOUR SHIRT:
I don’t care what size you are, you’ll always look thinner and taller if you tuck your shirt in, not to mention you’ll look more polished and put together. If you still want a more relaxed and casual look opt for the infamous half-tuck, basically when you only tuck in the front part of your top and leave the back hanging out. I personally love the half-tuck and still do it quite often.
3.) WEAR HEELS:
If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile now you know that heels are my thing, I wear heels 98% of the time because I feel taller, thinner, and more confident in them, so I wear them a lot. (MY SILVER HEELS ARE CURRENTLY 60% OFF) If heels aren’t your thing, try wearing a wedge or kitten heel, this type of shoe will elongate your frame without sacrificing comfort.
4.) HEM YOUR PANTS/JEANS JUST ABOVE THE ANKLE BONE:
No matter what your size or shape, most people’s ankles are thin, so show them off! This length of pant also allows you to show off your favorite heel of the moment! Every time I buy a pair of jeans I head straight to my tailor and have her cut them off or hem them right above my ankle bone because I know this is the most flattering way to wear them. Pairing an ankle length pant or jean and a killer heel is a combo that will always make you look taller and thinner!
5.) WEAR A SHORTER JACKET:
Unless you’re 5’7 or above I recommend wearing a jacket that hits right at the waist line or a tad bit lower. The reason is because a long jacket can swallow you and make you look shorter than you really are. I’m not saying I don’t love a chic long kimono or duster, but when wearing longer silhouettes you need to be careful what you style them with in order to look proportionate. To play it safe, opt for a waist length jacket or a bit longer because it will elongate your frame and accentuate the waist making you look taller and yes slimmer!
My faux suede jacket by Blanknyc is the perfect length and the cut is also very flattering! It’s super soft and I love this gorgeous gray color, so perfect for fall and winter. It comes in 6 beautiful colors and would you believe it’s under $100?! This jacket is such a steal and would be a great addition to any fall wardrobe! It runs true to size, I’m wearing an XS.
