THE COOL-GIRL WAY TO WEAR A BUTTON-DOWN: SHARING 5 LOOKS

Lately, I’ve been living in effortless button-down shirts because they’re not only incredibly chic but they’re just so easy to throw on with just about anything and look polished and put together!  My favorite way to style a button-down in the summertime is to roll up the sleeves (I did a video on how to roll up your sleeves among several other style tricks so feel free to check that out) tie it at the waist, and leave the first few buttons undone.  This is a sure-fire way to turn your average basic button-down into a shirt that’s not only stylish but very fashion-forward!  All the mega influencers and celebs are wearing their button-downs this way as of late so I challenge you to give it a try.  I promise after doing it once you’ll want to wear all of your classic button-downs this way, I know I do!  I’ve spent hours perusing all of my favorite online sites to find the best button-downs for summer.  Scroll down to view all 5 of them styled for summer and feel free to add any of these chic and affordable button-downs to your cart if you love them as much as I do!

I adore this leopard button-down because it’s wrinkle-free and such an amazing price point, only $47 to be exact!  It looks so good with denim and heels, but it also looks amazing paired with denim shorts and some fabulous gold slides.  I sized up in this shirt as I do in all of my button-downs to give them that effortless over-sized fit, I’m wearing a size small.

This is my triple denim look, lol!  This blue top by Rails is crazy soft, I literally feel like I’m wearing my pajamas when I have it on!  I left the first few buttons undone to create a look that’s incredibly chic and tastefully sexy.  This baby blue shade is so beautiful and I especially love wearing it the summertime.  I sized up in this top one size for a more effortless feel, I’m wearing a size small.

SHOP THIS LOOK (SNEAKERS ARE UNDER $100):

I just purchased this white button-down from Nili Lotan which is one of my current favorite designers.  All of her pieces are so luxe and high-quality so they will no doubt last many years!  This white shirt is no exception as the material is amazing and the fit is impeccable!  It’s already perfectly over-sized so you don’t need to size up and of course, I love it worn with high-waisted denim and sneakers for a casual look that’s chic and comfortable!  This top is a bit of an investment but a white button-down is one of the few tops I suggest investing since it’s such a basic piece every wardrobe needs and it will never go out of style!  If this one is out of your budget no worries, I love this white button-down too and it’s under $100!  You can see it in black in the last look.  This top runs true to size so take your regular size, I’m wearing an XS.

I can’t get enough of these super chic under $100 studded sneakers by Steve Madden.   They’re crazy comfortable and I love them paired with denim, shorts, and even dresses!

SHOP THIS LOOK: 

I love wearing a button-down over a slip dress to create a summer look that’s not only chic but it’s comfortable too!  This linen button-down is by Frame and I adore this olive green shade.  It’s already perfectly over-sized so no need to size up to get that cool-girl fit.  I’ve worn this top with jeans and shorts too proving its wearability and versatility.

This shirt is super soft and lightweight so it’s perfect to wear in the summertime.  It comes in white as well and I love it worn with high-waisted denim.  The price point is amazing and I promise this will be a shirt you’ll want to wear all summer long, I know I do!  I sized up one size for a more over-sized fit, I’m wearing a size small.
