Well, currently in Dallas it’s approaching 100 degrees and it’s very humid and hot! I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want to put on in this Texas heat is a pair of jeans (although I still wear them a ton in the summer). A great alternative to wearing a pair of jeans that’s still very effortless and cool (no pun intended) is a denim skirt. The a-line ripped denim skirt is being seen everywhere on celebs, fellow bloggers, and even some famous models, and on people of all ages. You might be wondering this: Am I too old to wear a denim mini skirt? Well, the answer is this, if you style it appropriately and wear the correct size then my answer is no. I’m 44 and think both of these ways I styled this fabulous a-line ripped denim skirt are appropriate for my age.

3 STYLE TIPS TO ENSURE YOUR A-LINE RIPPED DENIM SKIRT LOOKS AGE APPROPRIATE:
1.) WEAR THE CORRECT SIZE:
The worse thing you can do is wear a skirt that’s too small or too short, both things will make you look cheap and like you’re trying too hard to look . My tip for you is that if your between sizes, always opt for going up one size. This high-waisted denim skirt I’m wearing is by Agolde, it runs true to size, I’m wearing a size 25.
2.) PAIR IT WITH SOPHISTICATED PIECES:
An oversized blazer (as I wore in look 1) is a perfect example of a sophisticated piece that will balance out the amount of skin showing when you wear an a-line ripped denim skirt. Since this blazer isn’t tight fitting it also balances out the proportions making you look polished and very put together.
3.) WEAR A LOW HEEL, WEDGE, OR A FLAT SANDAL
If you pair your denim skirt with a pair of sky high stilettos or crazy high platforms you can end up looking like a woman of the night if you know what I mean, lol! Keep it simple and sleek as I did in this post. In look one I wore my favorite silver heels by Veronica Beard, the heel height is only 3.5 inches, low enough to look tasteful with a denim skirt, but high enough to make my legs look longer and me look taller, always a plus!
