MY SKINCARE ROUTINE + 3 SHOCKING THINGS I LEARNED ABOUT SKINCARE AT THE NEUTROGENA EVENT

Happy Monday gorgeous ladies!

Last week I partnered with Neutrogena and got the privilege of attending their #rapidu skincare event in Boston.  Myself along with about 20 other influencers attended this amazing event together.  We learned many fascinating things about our skin and the aging process and what we can do to slow it down which I will share with all of you below.  It was such an amazing experience and I’m thankful I was chosen, so a big thank you to Neutrogena! SHOP MY WINTER OUTFIT I WORE IN BOSTON:

I was so excited to work with Neutrogena because I’ve actually been using their products since I was a teen so this partnership was such a natural fit!  I’ve tried tons of different skin care lines and I always seem to go back to Neutrogena products for 2 simple reasons, one is they actually work and two is they’re very affordable!

Neutrogena just launched a new line called the Rapid Wrinkle Repair line and IT’S AMAZING!!   I’ve been using 3 of the products for almost a month now and I’ve already seen less fine lines and wrinkles in just this short amount of time so I’m completely sold on this skincare line!  I use it morning AND night and seriously my skin has never felt or looked better!

6 STEP SKINCARE ROUTINE:

1.) CLEANSE: 

I ALWAYS take my makeup off every single night no matter what!  If you think this doesn’t really matter and has no effect on what your skin looks like trust me, it DOES!  I use the Neutrogena Repair Anti-Wrinkle Retinol Prep Facial Cream Cleanser which contains glycolic acid (the holy grail of exfoliation) and a mild micro-exfoliant so it’s gentle enough to use in the morning and at night.  My skin feels clean, smooth and soft after I use this cleanser.

2.) MAKE-UP REMOVING TOWELETTES:

After I cleanse there is inevitably always makeup left on my face, especially mascara.  I take these LIFE CHANGING makeup remover cleansing towelettes also by Neutrogena that I’ve been using for years now and they not only take off my mascara, but they do a great job of getting all the excess makeup off my cleanser left behind. Also, I just discovered these cute little travel ones which will fit perfectly in your travel makeup bag! Literally, I could not live without these!!

3.) APPLY NEUTROGENA RAPID WRINKLE REPAIR RETINOL OIL: 

This is the really good stuff that will transform your skin, I saw less fine lines and wrinkles after only one week!  It sinks into my skin really well and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and smooth.  Because of the Retinol SA ingredient, I’ve been seeing less dark spots too and just have a smoother texture to my skin.  I use this TWICE A DAY along with my cleanser above and moisturizer below.

4.) MOISTURIZE WITH NEUTROGENA RAPID WRINKLE REPAIR RETINOL ANTI-WRINKLE REGENERATING FACE CREAM 

 I do this at night only.  It’s formulated with hyaluronic acid which helps plump the skin and it moisturizes the skin perfectly helping diminish deep wrinkles such as cheek and forehead wrinkles.

5.) APPLY EYE CREAM:

I use Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream with Retinol SA. Some other eye creams I’ve tried make my eyes burn which is no good, this is very gentle yet effective and feels very nourishing under my eyes.  I always apply this under my eye and on my eyelid, I also apply it all the way out past my temples.

6.) SUNSCREEN which I apply only in the mornings. 

I use Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Anti-Wrinkle Retinol Daily Face Moisturizer with SPF 30.  This has all the anti-aging effects the above products have but also has SPF which I highly recommend using every single day!  It works well under my makeup, it’s very thin and goes on smooth.

SKINCARE TIP:  APPLY ALL OF THESE PRODUCTS TO YOUR NECK AND CHEST AREA TOO!  THESE AREAS NEED THESE PRODUCTS AS MUCH AS OUR FACE DOES!

3 SHOCKING THINGS I LEARNED AT THE NEUTROGENA #RAPIDU SKIN CARE EVENT:

1.) Only 20% of the way you age is genetic, the rest is environmental.

I don’t about you, but I’ve always thought that my skin and the rate I age was based a ton more genetics, like at least 50% of even more, boy was I wrong!  Actually, this is good news because what this means is that living a healthy lifestyle for example, what we eat, how much sleep we get, and how often we exercise play a HUGE role in our aging process and thank goodness we can control that proving a healthy lifestyle can and will pay off!

2.) A positive mindset and attitude actually slows down the aging process.

This was so good to hear and I couldn’t agree more, I’ve always been a firm believer in mind over matter.  Positive energy and really making an effort to always find the silver lining will not only put you in a better mood and help you become a happier person, but it actually slows down the aging process, yay for this!!

3.) Stressful situations such as toxic relationships, moving, going through a divorce, addictions of any kind, rebellious teens, you get the point, this list could go on and on, well these things speed up the aging process.

This was NOT a shock to me and I’m sure it’s not a shock to you, however, this piece of good news WAS shocking to me.  During these stressful times, if you live a healthy lifestyle as I explained above like getting enough sleep (at least 7 hours a night), eating clean, and exercising will actually help slow down the aging process during these stressful times life always seems to deal us from time to time.  This again proves that living a healthy lifestyle is key to looking and feeling your best!
