It’s that time again, our CHIC AT EVERY AGE series featuring chic work-out gear, a definite must!

SHOP MY LOOK:
I love working out, in fact, it’s really what keeps my stress level down and also helps keep me in a good mood! I played soccer, volleyball, and basketball as a child and teen so working out has always been a part of my life style. As an adult I enjoy playing tennis, practicing Bikram yoga, and doing weight lifting classes at the YMCA. I work out 6 days a week religiously not only because it helps me stay in shape, but as I mentioned above it really helps me mentally more than anything. I wanted to share 5 tips that have helped me stay in shape and more healthy as I’ve gotten older. I’m 44 years young and I feel even younger! I hope some of these tips will help you feel and look younger too!
1.) TAKE VITAMINS: Here is a list of what I take every single day. Since I’ve started taking this combination of vitamins I’ve never felt better, my energy level is high and my moods are pretty stable (something I have struggled with in the past).
New Chapter Every Woman Multivitamin: I take one a day, every day. If you only take one of these vitamins let it be this one, it’s a great multi vitamin with nutrients supporting immune, stress and hormones specifically for woman.
Ashwagandha: This helps support a healthy immune system and stress response, it’s also a great mood stabilizer. I make my husband take this too and he loves it!
Now Probiotic: Probiotics help maintain a healthy digestive system and immune system
New Chapter Whole Omegas: Fish oil has so many amazing benefits such as it helps you loose weight, it reduces depression and anxiety and even fights against cancer!

Calcium plus Magnesium: I was actually told by my Doctor that every woman over the age of 40 should be taking calcium everyday to support bone health! The magnesium helps me sleep better which is always a plus for so many reasons!
2.) GET ENOUGH SLEEP: I can’t stress this enough, we’ve all heard the saying “get your beauty sleep” and it really is true! My mind is sharper, my mood is better, and I know I look better when I get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. I’m in bed by 10 pm at the latest every night and up by 6 to start my day. If you get in the habit of going to bed earlier and getting up earlier I promise you’ll have a more productive life and even look younger!!
3.) DRINK PLENTY OF WATER: I try and drink at least 2 liters of water every day. I don’t drink anything else during the day except water, I’ll have coffee in the mornings but that’s it. And like once a week I’ll have a glass of red wine with dinner, but that’s it. The absolute BEST kind of bottled water to drinK is +ESSENTIA, you can get it at Whole Foods, Tom Thumb, or you can order it on Amazon by clicking HERE. It’s super charged with ionized alkaline water so it creates a disease fighting environment in your body, enough said!
4.) EAT HEALTHY: Think Paleo or Whole 30, basically my diet consists of 85% veggies (I eat salads a ton), 10% lean white meat or fish, and the rest is dessert which I don’t recommend, but it’s really my only vice food wise so why not, lol!

5.) EXERCISE: As I mentioned above exercise is an important and vital part of having a healthy life style! It not only helps you look good, but it helps you feel good too which is even more important! I practice Bikram hot yoga 4 times a week which I swear by, it’s like the most amazing work out physically AND mentally with so many in sane health benefits, you can read more about it by clicking here. I practice at the Pure Yoga Studio in Lakewood and have for the past 7 years. I also play tennis a couple times a week and try and lift weights at least once or twice a week at the YMCA.
Details about my outfit: My APL sneakers are super comfortable and I love to work out in them! Shopbop has an amazing selection of APL sneakers, they’re my new favorite’s because they look uber chic yet they’re super comfortable and supportive!
My leggings and jacket are both by Zella available at Nordstrom. I love this line of workout clothing, it’s high quality yet very reasonably priced! The material is super soft and the pieces fit perfectly and run true to size, I’m wearing a size XS in the leggings and the jacket.
