Denim, denim, denim – bring on the denim! It’s one of my all-time favorite things to wear and if you read my blog or watch my videos on YouTube I bet you love wearing jeans as much as I do! Cathy and I both are obsessed with jeans and it seems like every time we go shopping together we end up in the denim department, lol! There are several new denim trends this season and the good news is that they’re all very wearable no matter what your age. From wide-leg jeans to the ever-so-popular high-waisted straight-leg silhouette, there is sure to be a denim trend that will look amazing on you.
My personal favorite denim trend is one that has recently been seen on tons of celebs and mega-influencers. The good news is that it looks good on almost any body type and is actually more flattering than a typical pair of jeans. Make sure to scroll to the bottom because this NEW DENIM TREND is listed as #5 and trust me when I say this is one denim trend you’ll want to add to your denim collection this season.

TOP 5 DENIM TRENDS OF 2023:
WIDE LEG JEANS (ON ME):
The first trend on my list of the top denim trends of 2023 is wide-leg jeans! The key with wide-leg denim is to balance your look; if you’re wearing wide-leg jeans, make sure your top and/or jacket is form-fitting and make sure you’re wearing a heel! These are mid-size baggy jeans in Brooklyn blue and they’re by Alice and Olivia so you know the level of quality is outstanding. I’m wearing a size 24 in these incredibly flattering jeans.
BUDGET-FRIENDLY VERSION:
If the designer pair above is a bit out of budget, no worries! I can always count on Express for designer quality denim at a fraction of the price and these budget-friendly wide-leg jeans are seriously SO good you guys. The high waist is key for a slimming effect and the fit overall is just amazing. If you’re wanting to jump on this trend without a huge investment, I highly recommend this option.
HIGH-WAISTED FLARE (ON CATHY):
Trend No. 2 on my list of the top denim trends of 2023 is high-waisted flares! You can see the perfect example on Cathy, these are also from Veronica Beard and so slimming. The high waist combined with the floor-skimming hemline makes your legs look miles long and I love the comfort waist band as well. Both of us wear a size 24 and find they fit true to size.

ANKLE-SLIT JEANS:
This next trend is one of my favorites because they create the perfect opportunity to show off your favorite pairs of heels! They also make your legs look crazy long and add a bit of uniqueness to my look. These ones are from Revolve and they fit like an absolute glove! They come in a great medium wash that works all year round and I’m wearing a SIZE 24.

THE HIGH-WAISTED STRAIGHT LEG:
This next denim trend is incrediably popular and with good reason! Straight-leg denim with a high waist is one of the most universally popular fits because it’s also the most universally flattering style of denim. They honestly look so good on a host of body types and you can wear them in whatever length you want and still get that flattering silhouette. I’m wearing a size 24 in these Agolde Riley jeans which are my favorite pair at the moment.

THE DENIM MIDI SKIRT:
Last but not least on my list of top denim trends of 2023 is the denim midi skirt! I own 3 different denim skirts right now and I find myself wanting to wear them on repeat! I love this trend because denim midi skirts are typically more slimming on than a pair of jeans and this is the perfect way to elevate a casual look. This one is from Express so you now the price point is amazing as well. I’m wearing a size 0 reg and find it fits true to size.

BONUS TREND: DENIM ON DENIM! Are you a fan of the Canadian tuxedo like us? I honestly LOVE the denim-on-denim look and am thrilled that it’s currently trending. The trick with denim on denim is to mix and match your washes like I have or wear a matching set like Cathy.
