5 WAYS TO WEAR A DENIM JACKET

If I had to pick one type of jacket that I wear the most often in the spring and summertime it would hands-down be the jean jacket!! I personally love a good denim jacket because it can go from casual to dressy in a snap, but the trick lies in how to style a denim jacket. You can wear them with jeans for a double denim look, with a fabulous skirt, or draped over a dress for coverage on those chillier patio nights. You can even throw one over your workout clothes on your way to the gym and still look chic!
Another thing I love about denim jackets is the variety of styles out there! Whether you prefer a cropped style, oversized fit, or something a little more classic, there is sure to be something for everyone in today’s post. I’m sharing 5 fabulous ways to style your denim jacket this spring & summer including a few of my all-time favorites. ALL SAINTS DENIM JACKET:
The first look in my guide for how to style a denim jacket features this light-wash jacket by All Saints. The cropped style is having a huge moment right now and I am here for it! The vintage light wash is perfect for spring and summer when I tend to lean more toward light colors overall and I love the way it looks buttoned up as well. I’m wearing an XS in this summer staple.
IVORY MIDI SKIRT:
I paired the jacket above with this gorgeous high-waisted skirt from Revolve. The knit material gives a flattering silhouette and makes this skirt look far more expensive than it really is. They also make a matching top that looks stunning worn together just like I did here. I’m wearing an XS in this skirt that also comes in black and a beautiful chocolate brown shade.

FRAME DENIM JACKET:
Look No.2 features this fabulous distressed trucker jacket by Frame. I love the frayed hem and the distressing throughout the whole jacket and the medium wash goes with almost anything. Thrown over a chic dress, it gives this whole look a bit of an edge that I just love. I’m wearing an XS in this chic spring jacket!
BUDGET FRIENDLY VERSION:
If the Frame jacket above is a bit out of budget, no worries! I recommend this cropped denim jacket by Mavi Jeans as a more affordable option, especially right now since it’s on sale for 40% off! I love the trending cropped style and the bleached hem is so unique, you can’t go wrong with this fabulous summer staple. I’m wearing an XS and find it fits true to size.
WITH A DRESS:
One of my absolute favorite ways to style a denim jacket is to drape it over a dress, such as this luxe sweater dress by French Connection. The stitching details really elevate it to the next level and the ivory color is the perfect neutral shade for any time of the year. The knit material makes it look expensive, but it really has a price point under $100, making it stylish AND affordable! I’m wearing an XS in this summer wardrobe essential.

UNDER $100 DRESS:
Look No.4 features this gorgeous under $100 strapless maxi dress in the perfect nude shade. I love the form-fitting style especially when I’m wearing my favorite shapewear by Spanx. This is the ideal nude color in my opinion and once you drape a denim jacket overtop you’ve got a chic look to take you anywhere in style! I wear an XS in the dress and find it fits true to size.

ALICE AND OLIVIA DENIM BLAZER:
The last jacket I want to talk about in this guide to how to style a denim jacket is this AMAZING denim blazer from Alice & Olivia. If you’ve followed me for any length of time then you know I love a good blazer and a good denim jacket so as soon as I saw this combination I knew it was coming home with me. I’m wearing an XS in this unique hero piece.
ALICE AND OLIVIA JEANS:
The flare/ bell-bottom style of jeans has been coming back in a huge way in 2023 and this set from Alice & Olivia is my new favorite pair. The waist is considered a low rise, but I still find the fit very flattering. Paired with the matching denim blazer this is the chicest double denim look I’ve styled to date! I’m wearing a size 24 and find it fits true to size.
