My whole life I’ve loved wearing jeans, even as a little girl they were my favorite thing to wear! Is anyone else a lifelong denim lover through and through? My friends call me the JEAN QUEEN because I live in denim, which is why I consider myself an expert. There are a few key factors I always look for in a really good pair of jeans; the fit, the wash, comfort level, and how well they hold their shape.
Looking at my closet I realized I owned a ton of denim, so I started taking note of which ones I actually wear most often. After tracking this for at least 6 months I found that the following 5 pairs of jeans are the ones that meet all the criteria and that I was reaching for the most. The first pair on my list of the most flattering denim for women over 40 is this pair of split-ankle jeans from EB denim. The combination of the high waist with the floor-skimming hemline will make your legs look miles long and the added detail of the split hem at the ankle really takes these jeans to the next level! All this combined makes them one of my most worn pairs and even after all that use, they’re still in fantastic shape! I’m wearing a size 24 and they fit true to size.

MADEWELL MODERN SKINNY JEANS:
Pair No.2 on my list of the most flattering denim for women over 40 is a style I like to call a “modern skinny jean”. I’ve also seen them called a tapered fit which is an updated version of the skinny jean! The waist is high and the fit is a bit looser for more comfortable wear. This specific pair is made with a special blended material that holds it’s structure but also has the smallest amount of stretch for the best of both worlds! I’m wearing a size 24 in this fabulous pair of denim.

FRAME WIDE LEG JEANS
Does anyone else totally love the wide-leg denim trend?! It took me a few tries before I found a pair that I felt really good in and this pair from Frame was that winner! I love how they fit well in the hips but still have that trending wide leg that goes right down to the floor. This pair also has the perfect amount of distressing for my taste and I find it helps break up the expanse of fabric. I’m wearing a size 24 in one of the most flattering denim for women over 40!

Add in the raw hem and you’ve got an edgy pair of denim ready for a night out! I’m wearing a size 24 and they fit true to size.

I own these flattering jeans in almost all the washes available because they are just that good! They look and feel like designer denim but with a price point below $100 they cost a fraction of the price. If you only choose one pair of jeans from this edit to try, this is the one!
