I’m excited to be teaming up with my favorite department store, Nordstrom, to bring all of you 3 key pieces you should invest in! Plus, a few others you should NOT spend a ton of money on.
I’ve been blogging about fashion for over 5 years and I still love it as much as I did the day I started! One of the main things my blog is known for is mixing highs and lows. I may have on a $20 tee and a $60 jacket, but my handbag and shoes are by high quality designers and that’s no accident, I make it a point to only invest in 3 items in my wardrobe and there is a good reason why. These are items you’ll wear over and over again so they need to be high quality. If you choose well (I always choose neutral versions of these items) they will match EVERYTHING in your closet making it easy to wear them over and over again making them well worth the investment! My outfit formula will almost always consist of these 3 INVESTMENT pieces:
GUCCI BELT: My amazingly chic Gucci belt is the perfect topper to any spring look. I love this neutral color, it’s sort of a blush pink/tan shade that matches everything! I’m wearing a size 75 and I always wear it with high-waisted jeans. The exact belt I’m wearing isn’t available at Nordstrom, however, I found this ONE I love even more, it comes in white or the exact color I’m wearing, both perfect for spring, they’re bit thinner in width, and the gold G’s are made of pearls making them uber fabulous! I also have the black Gucci belt I linked below and wear it a ton! Trust me, if you add a Gucci belt to your wardrobe it will be a timeless piece you’ll end up wearing all the time, I know I do!
GUCCI HANDBAG: This bag matches the belt perfectly so they look amazing worn together! I’ve gotten so used to carrying small bags, they’re so much easier on your back and shoulders and since they don’t hold a ton of stuff I always feel more organized when I carry a small handbag. This bag is big enough for my phone, car key, lip gloss, and small wallet – what else does a girl need?! This gorgeous neutral color matches all of my spring ensembles and the bag is very versatile, it can be carried during the day with a more casual look such as a tee and some ripped jeans, but it also looks uber chic carried at night with a fun dress and some killer heels! I’ve linked my favorite Gucci bags below sure to be a handbag you’ll have in your closet for many seasons to come.
METALLIC SLIDES: These gorgeous metallic gold slides are by Loeffler Randall and I’m obsessed! They match my Gucci bag and belt perfectly and add a fun pop of shine to all of my looks. Another amazing thing about these fabulous slides is that they’re super comfortable because of the block heel. They look fantastic with jeans, but they also look super chic styled with dresses and skirts!
I highly recommend investing in these 3 key wardrobe staples because these are things you’ll wear a ton so they need to be high quality!
Tops are NOT something I recommend in spending a ton of money on, for example, this sweater I’m wearing is by Madewell so the price point is amazing, only $79 for this chic sweater! It also comes in a really pretty pink shade which I love for spring, it runs true to size, I’m wearing an XS. There is limited sizing left in this exact sweater so I found this ONE and this ONE that are both very similar and under $100! This sweater is very soft and I love the neck line, perfect for showing off my favorite bralette by Free people which is only $38 by the way and comes in 6 colors ( I also own the black), quite a steal for such a pretty piece that you’ll want to wear under all your v-neck tops!
Gray jeans are a definite spring must-have! In fact, gray jeans are my favorite color of denim to wear because they literally go with everything! These jeans are by Mother and the exact pair I’m wearing are sold out, however, I found THESE and THESE at Nordstrom that are both amazing and very similar. I wear a 25 in the Parker Smith jeans which is my normal size. I sized down one size in the Mother jeans, I’m wearing a size 24.
My silver and gold bar necklace is by Argento Vivo, my favorite affordable jewelry line that Nordstrom carries. Casual accessories such as jewelry is another thing I suggest NOT spending a ton of money on. I just got this and I’ve been wearing it with everything, in fact, I never take it off! Since it’s silver AND gold it looks good with all of my spring ensembles and for only $68 it was a definite must-have!
A special thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post!
