This practice became common for a while, but I’ve noticed many major designers opting for simpler back pockets without embellishment. I’m personally happy to see this trend go as I prefer something like this killer pair of jeans from Frame. The back pockets are simple and they’ve been placed in a way that gives your bum a little lift, which is a nice bonus! I wear a size 24 and they fit true to size.

Style No.2 is low-rise baggy jeans and this style isn’t so much OUT as it is simply not flattering. Unless you’re a 6-foot-tall model, I truly feel like this style of denim will do more harm than good in your closet, so I say skip it! Instead, I would choose a wide-leg or baggy style of denim with a high waist. This will ensure all that material creates a slimming elongating effect on your silhouette. This pair is from Citizens of Humanity and is a frequent player in my denim rotation. I love how they are a wide-leg style but there’s not too much excess material to deal with. Trend No. 3 on its way out is heavily distressed denim! Excess rips and distressing have had their 15 minutes of fame, but non-distressed denim is taking center stage again this fall. This gorgeous pair of jeans is from Madewell and also features another red-hot denim trend this fall: dark wash! No. 4 on my list of denim trends out of style this season is cropped flares. Not only is this trend on its way out, but they’re extremely unflattering because they cut your legs off, effectively making you look shorter. Instead, opt for a pair of full-length baby flares for a slimming effect that will make your legs look miles long. Last but not least on my list of denim trends out of style in 2024 are low-rise skinny jeans! The low-rise waist combined with a skinny leg will instantly make you look frumpy and outdated, not to mention this style does nothing for most body types. A high waist will do so much more for your body shape and a modern skinny jean has a slightly wider leg for more comfort and a less restrictive fit.
