BEST DENIM OF 2021

Are you a denim lover through and through like me? I’ve literally been obsessed with jeans since I was a little girl believe it or not!  I wear jeans almost every single day so needless to say I’m always on the hunt for the next best pair which is why it’s safe to say I’m a denim expert.  Trust me, there are plenty of things I’m NOT an expert on, but as far as denim goes I know a good pair of jeans when I see them. The denim trend has been shifting in the last year or so towards more relaxed denim as opposed to the ultra-tight skinny jean (although the skinny jean is still in style) and as far as low-rise denim goes do they even make them any more?  And if they do, take my advice and don’t wear them because low rise denim will make your legs look shorter and simply aren’t very flattering. Needless to say, I’m a huge fan of high-waisted denim as it’s a sure-fire way to look taller and slimmer which is why every single pair of jeans I’m featuring today are high-waisted. 1. MOUSSY WIDE LEG STRAIGHT:

I am so obsessed with these jeans by Moussy – they are definitely in my top 3 favorite jeans in my closet. They are a baggy straight-leg style with a high-rise waist that gives them some of the best qualities to look for when it comes to denim! Because of their baggy silhouette, these are super fashion-forward and on-trend right now. Since these are an investment, I’m also sharing a great dupe by Agolde that I love just as much. The Moussy jeans run tts, I’m wearing a 25.

2. LIGHT WASH REDONE JEANS:

These jeans by Redone are a modern-slim, straight-leg style that are so comfortable and chic! Redone is probably my favorite denim brand at the moment – all of their jeans are so good. I love the light wash color and high-waist on these jeans making them super slimming. These jeans pair well with basically any shoe you own, including heels, boots, or sneakers. They run true to size, I’m wearing a size 24.

3. FADED BLACK REDONE JEANS:

As I said above, I’m obsessed with any jean by Redone, so I’m featuring these that are the exact same silhouette as the ones above in a different color. I love this edgy faded black wash because it’s very versatile and wearable year-round. Though these are straight-leg and high-waisted, they are not super tight and skinny making them the perfect fit! This pair runs true to size, I’m wearing a 24.

4. GRAY JEANS BY TRAVE:

I love the high-waist featured in this modern skinny jean by Trave, including the super cool detailing on the ankle making them a bit more edgy! Not only are they extremely comfortable and wearable, the gray wash will literally go with everything making them versatile. I think these are more unique than most jeans because of the stitching. These run true to size, I’m wearing a 25.

5. VERONICA BEARD STRAIGHT LEG JEAN:

These jeans by Veronica Beard are a cross between a skinny jean and a straight-leg jean making them more modern than most! Since I love the raw edge hem look, I actually had these cut a bit shorter by my tailor which is a good tip if you’re ever wanting something a bit more unique! They have a medium to light wash with super cool distressing making them year-round appropriate. I did size down one size in these, I’m wearing a 24.

6. REDONE 70’s STRAIGHT LEG JEAN:

These Redone jeans have a looser fitting, straight-leg style with a 12″ high rise waist! I love jeans that have a faded feature to them more than a solid color because fading looks more expensive and elevated. These do have rips in the knees, so if you’re not comfortable wearing this style, there are plenty others without rips you’ll love on this post. Thanks to the ankle length, these jeans will make you look taller and slimmer. They run true to size, I’m wearing a 25.

7. AGOLDE MODERN SKINNY JEAN:

If you’ve been around a while, you probably know how much I love this denim brand – Agolde. They make some of the best jeans hands down, and I especially favor their NICO jeans. Since they’re a modern skinny with a high-waist, they are super slimming and flattering which is always a plus. The medium wash can be worn in every season and they’re so comfortable. When I am in the mood to wear sneakers, these are definitely my go-to jeans! They run true to size, I’m wearing a 25.

8. CITIZENS OF HUMANITY “OLIVIA” (MODERN SKINNY):

These Citizens of Humanity jeans are top sellers from 2020 and some of my personal favorites. I love that they are vintage inspired due to their light to medium faded wash that you can wear year-round. These jeans are high-rise so they look great with heels, boots, and sneakers making them super versatile and slimming. These run true to size, I’m wearing a size 24.

9. CITIZENS OF HUMANITY ‘OLIVIA’ MODERN SKINNY:

These are the light wash version of the jeans above – since they’re so good I got them in both colors. I am so glad I had my tailor cut these off right above the ankle bone because they look so flattering! Ankle length jeans are the most flattering length to wear your denim which is a good tip to keep in mind. These run true to size, I’m wearing a 24.

10. ABERCOMBIE AND FITCH ULTRA-HISE STRAIGHT LEG JEAN:

These under $100 jeans by Abercrombie and Fitch are my all-time favorite jeans that I wear all the time. They have a 12″ high rise waist making your legs look longer and are uber slimming – a look that every woman wants! Since they have a stretch to them, they are super comfortable, however, if you’re between sizes, I would recommend sizing down one. If you aren’t a fan of the black faded wash, these come in 10 different shades! For under $100, I highly recommend these! I’m wearing a size 24.
