MY THANKSGIVING OUTFIT + 43 THINGS I’M GRATEFUL FOR
in Fashion on 16/11/2016
Happy Wednesday! It’s my 43rd birthday today, I’m happy to be alive and healthy and doing what I love to do! I wanted to share with all of you 43 things I’m grateful for today in honor of my birthday. I heard about keeping a gratitude journal about 6 years ago from my counselor and it really does make a world of difference! Every morning when I wake up I think of at least 3 things I’m thankful for and share those with GOD and it helps me even more if I write them down in a journal. I find that my mind set for the rest of the day is positive and healthy and my overall feeling is happiness and joy. It’s hard sometimes to do this because we all know that life can give you some pretty challenging things and after 43 years of living I can attest to plenty of challenging moments in my life where I only felt despair and sadness. Keeping a gratitude journal keeps my chin up even on days like this. Here are the 43 things I’m grateful for today:
1.) My Relationship with God 2.) My precious children 3.) My husband 4.) The Relationship I had with my Dad 5.) My Mom’s hugs and her positive attitude ALWAYS 6.) That I have a son at University of Alabama and one at Sewanee 7.) For christian rock 8.) That my daughter is such a hard worker 9.) For my tennis team 10.) My blog and all of my readers 11.) My Bikram yoga practice 12.) For warm fires in the winter 13.) My dogs Lily and Scout 14.) My brothers and how they make me laugh 15.) Pecan Pie 16.) Water Falls 17.) The Beach 18.) My health 19.) My counselor 20.) Mary Clayton, my bible study leader 21.) The friends I have made through blogging 22.) My high school girl friends 23.) Baking with my Mom and Ally 24.) Going to the Montage 25.) Watching movies 26.) The things I learned at Visions 27.) Christian Books 28.) Beth Moore 29.) Chocolate covered almonds 30.) Hugs from Tyler 31.) Letters from Ally 32.) Letters from my husband 33.) My purple bible 34.) My Dad’s advice that I still hear in my head 35.) Tyler’s scented candles 36.) Sunday family dinners 37.) Orchids 38.) The things I have learned from every challenge I have faced 39.) Saying I love you to my family 40.) Hearing I love you from my family and friends 41.) Paul R. sermons 42.) Lipstick and that my Grandmother and Mom put it on as much as I do 43.) My Grandmothers and all that they taught me
Now, onto my outfit. I love to wear something cozy and comfortable on Thanksgiving. I hope it will be cold this Thanksgiving, but in Dallas you never know. If it is going to be cold this is what I’ll be wearing for sure! I love this Free People sweater, it has the coolest bell sleeves, it’s really comfortable and not itchy at all (like some sweaters can be), and the v-neck line allows this sweater to look really good with a scarf or a choker necklace. It also comes in a really pretty ivory color which I love!
My scarf is from Nordstrom, I wear it all the time in the fall and winter with sweaters and leather jackets. I’ve probably worn this scarf 100 times and it looks the same today as the day I bought it. I highly recommend adding one of these chic scarves to your winter wardrobe or picking one up as a holiday gift.
Last, but not least, my Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots are my absolute favorites!!! I’ve had them for a few seasons now and they keep coming back so trust me, they will be in style for a few MORE seasons! They are so comfortable and hug your legs perfectly so they’re super flattering too! They come in 7 colors, I have the light gray too. These would make a great holiday gift as well, tell your husband or boyfriend these are first on your list! I did find some great look-a -likes by Steve Madden that are fabulous too for only $99.95!
