THE HOTTEST FALL FASHION TRENDS OF 2022

Fall is quickly approaching which means now is the perfect time to start thinking about what you want and need to add to your wardrobe.  I publish a video and do a blog post before each season covering the hottest trends and I’ll have to say this fall there are so many incredible fashion trends that are actually very wearable, no matter what your age!  Don’t think you have to wear ALL of these trends, in fact only about 20% of your wardrobe should be made up of trend pieces so I suggest just narrowing it down to 2-3 of your favorites and try those.

PRO STYLE TIP: WHEN DECIDING WHICH TREND TO TRY ALWAYS THINK ABOUT HOW IT MAKES YOU FEEL WHEN YOU PUT IT ON.  IF YOU FEEL CONFIDENT THEN WEAR IT, IF NOT THEN PASS FOR SURE!  Yes, it’s that simple.

THE TOP FALL FASHION TRENDS OF 2022:

1. ALL-BLACK

The first fall fashion trend for 2022 on my list is a classic look that anyone can get behind. I don’t think there is anything more sophisticated or elegant than a woman dressed in all black, which is why I am loving this trend! Most often if I have the dreaded feeling of “nothing to wear” I utilize this no-fail outfit formula that works every single time. This two piece set by Reformation is a fabulous transition look for summer to fall and you can throw in a little dopamine dressing by adding a fun pop of color in your accessories.

2. BAGGY DENIM:

Fall fashion trend #2 is baggy denim! Weather you prefer a straight leg jean puddled on the floor or a wide flare jean just skimming it, we are going to see more longer denim lengths than ever this fall season. A fabulous pair of denim to help you tip-toe into this trend would be these Moussy jeans. They are by far my new favorite pair of high-waisted baggy jeans. A major bonus of this style is that the loose fit is SO comfortable to wear and literally hides any problem areas. I’m wearing a size 24 in these must-have jeans for fall 2022.

3. THE INFAMOUS BOMBER JACKET:

My next fall fashion trend for 2022 is the infamous bomber jacket! I have been a HUGE fan of bomber jackets for a long time so I am very happy to see them coming back this fall with a vengeance. The dominant style is quite oversized but if you would like to tip toe into this trend, this mixed media jacket by Bernie is the perfect way to start. I love the medium over-sized fit and the rose shade is just to die for. I love it paired over this white bodysuit and split hem jeans, but you could also thrown it over an all black look to give a more fall/winter vibe!

THE MINI SKIRT:

You may be wondering to yourself if you are too old to wear a mini skirt, but I say if it makes you feel good, wear it! Something to keep in mind would be to utilize my rule of balance. If you are showing skin on the bottom half, balance that out by wearing a jacket over a full coverage bodysuit. This white high-waisted skirt from Alice & Olivia is the perfect piece to give this trend a try! It comes in 5 fabulous colors including camel ( which I also own).

THE LEATHER JACKET:

The next fall fashion trend of 2022 on my list is the biker-chic trend. Think moto boots paired with a black leather jacket. Basically anything black leather goes, and I would have to say this is my second favorite trend on the list! I personally love the biker/rocker chic vibe because it’s edgy and sexy but can still be classy if you style it right. You can pair a good leather jacket (like this one from Lamarque) with a denim skirt, a dress, or black pants for a mono-chrome look. The possibilities are endless and a black leather jacket is a fantastic staple piece for any capsule wardrobe.

6. CARGO PANTS/JEANS:

 The next fall fashion trend for 2022 I want to talk about is cargo pants! Either cargo pants or jeans, the big trend here is the cargo style and shape. I actually just read an article on denim that said the top search type of denim is cargo jeans for the last month. That just shows how much this trend is on fire! If you are looking to try out this trend, I highly recommend these UNDER $60 cargo pants by Open Edit. I love the gorgeous shade of green for fall, and they have the perfect fit of baggy but still slimming.

7. MAXI HEMLINES:

I am so excited about this next fall fashion trend! All over the red carpets and the runways we are seeing the floor-skimming maxi hemline and I am here for it! Whether it’s a dress or a skirt, I love this trend because it is almost universally wearable, no matter your age or body shape. If you are in need of a fabulous maxi dress to get in on this trend, I recommend this beautiful green maxi dress from Saks. It’s actually a light weight sweater material and I find it hugs in all the right places while still being crazy comfortable.

8. METALLICS:

The last trend on my list of fall fashion trends in 2022 is metallics! Whether that’s a fabulous pair of heels or a beautiful metallic handbag, all things shiny are a big hit this fall. I personally love mixing metals as I feel it’s a really modern way to wear your jewelry and you can do the same thing when you are styling outfits. These metallic heels from Stella McCartney are a perfect example of mixing metal tones and they are great option to try out this trend. Probably the best thing about these heels is the low heel height, which makes them comfortable AND stylish.
