Sharing 10 Make Up Tricks To Help You Look Younger With Nordstrom

Happy Wednesday ladies!  I’m excited to be teaming up with my all-time favorite retailer Nordstrom to share 10 makeup tricks I swear by that will help you look younger. Nordstrom is not only my go-place for of-the-moment fashion pieces but it’s my favorite destination when it comes to beauty products as well!  They carry all of my favorite beauty lines such as Charlotte Tilbury, Mac, Nars, and Tom Ford to name just a few.  I’ve listed 10 Makeup tricks to look younger below that I’ve been practicing for years in today’s blog post as well as on YouTube so be sure and check them all out.  Make sure to scroll down to the LAST TIP because it’s my personal favorite and it will make all the difference in the world!

10 MAKEUP TRICKS TO LOOK YOUNGER:

1.) CHOOSE YOUR MOISTURIZER WISELY:

It’s imperative that we use a good moisturizer because well-nourished skin just looks younger and more youthful.  My favorite moisturizer and one that I’ve been using for years is Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream.  This cream will not only do a phenomenal job of hydrating your skin but your foundation will go on extremely smooth after using this which is always a plus!  I use it all year round because it always seems to give my skin exactly what it needs in all seasons.

2.) ALWAYS USE SUNSCREEN WITH AGE DEFYING INGREDIENTS:

It’s no secret that using sunscreen will undoubtedly make you look younger but if you use one with extra anti-aging components ever better!  I found this sunscreen by Paula’s Choice that does just that and I’m here to say it’s amazing!  It’s lightweight and doesn’t leave a white residue like most sunscreens do and because it’s full of other antiaging ingredients it not only blocks the sun but it lessens fine lines and wrinkles too, need I say more?!

3.) ALWAYS USE A PRIMER:

Using a primer will make your pores look smaller and your foundation go on so much smoother which will no doubt make you look like the best version of yourself.  Another plus about using a primer is that it will help your make up stay on all day long.  My go-to primer is by Smash Box and I love it because it glides flawlessly on my skin and gives it a very mattifying finish ALL DAY LONG!

4.) DO YOUR EYE SHADOW BEFORE YOUR FOUNDATION:

I’ve been doing this makeup tip for years and this is a trick I swear by!  I do my eye shadow BEFORE my foundation so that when the eye shadow falls (and it always does) then I won’t be left with dark circles under my eyes after wiping it off.  I use makeup towelettes to wipe off the excess eyeshadow below my eyes before putting on my concealer and foundation so that I have no trace of any dark shadows under my eyes and yes this will definitely make you look longer!  My favorite eye shadow to use in the spring and summer is this gorgeous quadrant by Charlotte Tilbury called ‘THE GLAMOUR MUSE‘.  The colors are so pretty and perfect for this time of year.  Less dark circles under the eyes equals a more youthful appearance, I guarantee it!

5.) CURL YOUR EYELASHES:

Curling your eyelashes will make the biggest difference, trust me!  It will not only open up your eyes but it will make your lashes appear longer inevitably making you look younger.  Kevin Aucoin makes the best eyelash curler hands down!  I’ve been using it for years and it curls my lashes like no other.

6.) APPLY CONCEALER UNDER YOUR EYES:

Wearing a lightweight concealer like this one by Nars under your eyes concentrating on the inner corner will make your eyes appear bigger, brighter, and more radiant!  This one by Nars is creamy, lightweight yet covers up dark circles like no other, and it does a great job of staying on all day long.

7.) CONTOUR IN THE SHAPE OF A 3:

Contouring in the shape of a 3 will give you that chiseled look we all want making you look younger and even thinner!  Watch the video to check out this amazing technique and see why it does such a great job of making you look like the best version of yourself!  I used this amazing palette by Charlotte Tilbury that comes with a bronzer, highlighter, 2 blushes, and 3 eye shadows.  I use it everyday and it comes in really handy when I’m in a hurry because everything I need is in this ONE palette!

8.) ONLY USE POWDER WHERE YOU NEED TO:

Using too much powder will make our skin look cakey and just not attractive so it’s imperative we only use it where we are oily.  For me, I only use powder in the T-ZONE because that is the only place my skin looks oily.  My all-time favorite powder is this loose powder by Laura Mercier.  It’s very lightweight and does a great job of taking the shine away only where I want it to.  This trick will make us look more radiant and youthful and give us that glowy skin we all long for.

9.) FILL IN YOUR BROWS:

As we age our brows get thinner so it’s a must to fill them in which will not only accentuate the shape of our eyes but it will lift them up as well which will definitely make us look younger!  My favorite brow pencil is this one by Tom Ford and the color is called Taupe which is so good for blondes.  I love that the pencil is angled so it makes it super easy to create a flattering shape and it comes with a refill so this brow pencil should last you at least one full year!

10:) USE A BERRY COLORED LIPSTICK:

Using a pink or berry color lip shade in a medium tone as opposed to a nude tone will make your teeth look whiter which will always make us look younger and look better in photos, need I say more?  My favorite lip shades to wear in the spring and summer are the following 4 things and in this order.  Trust me, if you put these on in this order your lipstick will stay on ALL DAY LONG!

1.) Mac Lipliner in ‘ALMOST RED’

2.) Mac Lipstick in ‘HEY FRENCHIE’

3.) Nars Lipstain in ‘WALK OF SHAME’

4.) Charlotte Tilbury Lip gloss in ‘BLONDIE’ ( only apply to the center of your lips)

BONUS TIP: USE A WELL LIT MAKE UP MIRROR:

Ok, so you have to watch the video to see how incredibly cool this makeup mirror is!  The lighting is insane so it allows you to see every single thing on your face which helps you put on your make up so much better and yes this will make you look like the best version of yourself!  It has 3 different light settings, a magnetic phone holder so you can tape yourself doing your makeup (this is how I made my video for today’s post) and it has a magnifying magnetic mirror in case your eyesight is going like mine is!  This is seriously the best makeup mirror on the market and once you use it you’ll wonder how you ever did your makeup without it!
