One Outfit Formula That Works Every Time Styled 3 Ways

One thing I love to do when getting dressed every day is to pick a neutral “canvas” and then just layer over that to create tons of different looks with hardly any effort. What do I mean by “canvas” you may ask? Well, when I say canvas I mean creating a base look that is the same and then layering your favorite jacket over that outfit. For example, in today’s post, my canvas is a nude bodysuit and a pair of dark-wash jeans. This creates the perfect outfit to layer almost any jacket over and look polished and put together. From this easy and effortless canvas you’ll see I’ve created 3 fabulous fall looks simply by changing the third layer. GOOD AMERICAN NUDE BODYSUIT:
Let’s start with the top portion of my “canvas” or my base layer. Neutral shades make a great base and this nude bodysuit by Good American is one of my most worn pieces. I love the wide straps and the updated square neckline gives it a modern twist. I’m wearing an XS in this essential wardrobe staple.
CITIZENS OF HUMANITY WIDE LEG JEANS:
Have you tried trouser-style jeans yet?! I recently picked up this pair from Citizens of Humanity and I have to say I am HOOKED! This fit is so slimming and flattering and I love the darker wash of this particular pair for the fall & winter months. I’m wearing a size 24 in this trending denim.
UNDER $100 FAUX LEATHER JACKET:
The 3rd layer I chose for this easy fall look for women over 40 is this gorgeous option from Levi’s. It’s on sale for under $100 and as a result, there’s low stock in the smaller sizes but there’s plenty of stock in most of the other 12 colors available. I also found this gorgeous option from Mother that has the exact same vibe. I’m wearing an XS in both jackets and they both fit true to size.

FAUX LEATHER BLAZER:
The next easy fall look for women over 40 features this fabulous faux leather blazer from Cinq a Sept! I love the deep brown shade, especially because it’s one of the hottest colors for fall 2023. My favorite part of this blazer is the scrunched sleeves, which make it look like the sleeves are always pushed up! I’m wearing an XS and it fits true to size.
