4 WAYS TO MAKE A BUTTON DOWN COOL

I love wearing a good button down shirt, it’s so easy and effortless!  I found this one at Nordstrom and fell in love, it’s wrinkle free so it will travel well, it comes in 7 colors and it’s under $50!  Today I’m sharing 4 ways to make any button down look cool!

1.) ROLL THE SLEEVES UP THIS WAY:  I always roll my sleeves up when wearing a button down and here’s a neat way to do it that you might have never tried before –  Instead of taking the cuff and rolling it twice, try rolling it up once and then just pushing the sleeves up above your elbows leaving the cuff hanging out, this creates an even more effortless and cool girl look!

2.)  WEAR A CHOKER – I wear chokers a ton, they add the perfect touch of edge to any ensemble and this look is no exception.  So, the next time you throw on an average button down pair it with a simple choker, sure to chic up any outfit!

3.) DO THE HALF TUCK:  This is when you just tuck the front of the shirt in and leave the back hanging out.  It’s such an easy and simple way to change up your look.  It makes your legs look longer too by the way which is why I always do it.  It’s a casual and effortless way to bring any button down look to the next level!

4.) PAIR IT WITH A BRALETTE:  I purchased this bralette by Anine Bing about 2 months and have been wearing it a ton under tanks and button downs!  Wear this bralette under your button down and leave the first few buttons un done so you can see just a little of the lace.  This creates a subtly sexy, yet tasteful look!

DENIM REVIEW:  These amazing faded gray jeans are by DL1961 and they’re my new favorite’s!  They hold their shape very well, yet they’re extremely comfortable.  I love the frayed hem line and the wash is my all time favorite and the most versatile of all the denim washes, faded gray!  These will be the perfect jean that you can wear all year round and trust me, you will because they literally match everything!  They’re high-waisted which makes them uber slimming and slightly cropped so they’re perfect for showing off your favorite shoe of the moment.  They run big so I suggest ordering one size down, I’m wearing a 24 and I usually wear a 25.

My subtly sexy bralette is by Anine Bing and available at Shopbop.  I’ve been wearing it a ton lately under tanks and sweaters, it really adds the perfect amount of sexy in a tasteful way to any look!  It’s actually very comfortable too, I’m wearing a size small.  I also found this one by Madewell at Nordstrom that I love too, it’s very similar, but only a fraction of the price!  If you don’t already have a pretty black lace bra I highly recommend adding one to your wardrobe, it will quickly become one of your favorite pieces!
