I get this question a ton from my readers and clients, “Is it okay to wear white after labor day?” My answer is simple, yes it is! 10 years ago I would have had a different answer, however, times change and fashion changes. Now a days, it’s absolutely appropriate to wear white after labor day, even white shoes. Here is why: they’re really aren’t many strict rules when it comes to fashion anymore, in fact, the less rules you follow and the more creative and unique you are with your style the better. I think choosing an all white ensemble is extremely chic and sophisticated and you will for sure show up in the sea of black that most people choose to wear. Don’t get me wrong, I love an all black ensemble too, but if you want to stand out and change things up a bit opt for an all white look at your next dinner out, lunch date, or party – you will for sure turn heads!
I always like to accessorize with a touch of color when I’m wearing all white as I did in this post. I love my brown suede Chloe bag and my fab 70’s wedges – the perfect way to make them stand out…pair them with an all white look. So, if you have a favorite colorful clutch or a fun pair of heels that you want to show off go with an all white look and your shoes and clutch will be the perfect pop!
The dress I’m wearing is super comfortable and I LOVE the bell sleeves, very 70’s which I adore!! I’m wearing a size XS/S for reference. I’ve worn this dress to the grand opening of a new Dallas boutique called Planet Blue, I’ve also worn it to dinner with my husband and to church and Sunday brunch. It’s versatile and very boho chic which is a big trend right now. This dress would be a great addition to any wardrobe!
