BEST DENIM OF 2020: SHARING 9 OF MY FAVORITE PAIRS

TGIF!  Well, today is the big today we can all get out and about, however, I’m still a little timid about going places, how about you? I’m most excited about getting to see my family and friends and actually getting to hug them! Now that we’re able to leave our homes, I thought it was the perfect time to share the best denim trends since we actually have some fun places to wear jeans besides the grocery store, lol! If you’ve been reading my blog or watching my videos for a while now then you know I’m a denim lover through and through and have been since I was a little girl. I think it’s safe to say I know good denim since I literally wear them every single day both dressy and casual. I’ve rounded up my 9 favorite pairs of jeans I’ve acquired in 2020. You’ll notice that all but 2 of these styles are the highly covetable high-rise straight-leg silhouette which is no doubt the hottest denim trend of 2020!  Scroll to check out all 9 denim looks and feel free to shop anything you love along the way.

SHOP LOOK 1:

These Frame high-rise, straight-leg jeans are amazing for so many reasons! I love the light wash and the cool distressing on these. Also, the hem line is fabulous because it’s jagged making these a bit more edgy! I find that this wash actually goes with everything in the spring and summer, however, they’re great all year round. I paired these jeans with a chic black top that has lightly puffed sleeves which I think is gorgeous! Because it’s ribbed, it actually looks way more expensive than it really is at under $100. My edgy snake print belt is also on sale for 40% off making it under $30! I sized down one size in these jeans because I like mine a bit more fitted – I’m wearing a 24.  The top runs true to size and I’m in an XS.

SHOP LOOK 2 (JEANS AND JACKET ARE ON SALE):

I’ve featured these Madewell jeans before but wanted to feature them again because they’re so reasonably priced! Right now, they’re on sale for $101 and perfect for spring and summer because of their light wash. They have plenty of stretch, therefore, I love working from home in them but also out and about! Hopefully that time will come for all of us sooner than later. I paired these jeans with a simple and neutral utility jacket that I love. In fact, this jacket from Nordstrom is on sale for 50% off and under $100 making it the perfect time to invest in this spring staple! I would recommend sizing down in these jeans like I did – I’m wearing a size 24.

SHOP LOOK 3:

These Citizen of Humanity Olivia jeans are one of only two pairs of skinny jeans in this post. I’m featuring these because they don’t look like the old-fashioned super tight skinnies and are a bit looser which I love.  The vintage-inspired wash and retro button fly make these some of my favorites! I normally wear these jeans when I’m wearing flats or sneakers since they are a bit tighter at the ankle. Since these have some stretch, I love working from home in them because they’re extremely comfortable! I paired these with this light grey blazer which I featured before in my video titled: 10 THINGS YOU SHOULD NEVER DO ON A ZOOM CALL – it’s so soft and lightweight. It elevates any denim look and comes in 6 colors for under $100! I’m wearing a size 24 in these jeans because I sized down one size.

SHOP LOOK 4:

If you don’t love ripped denim, these Citizen of Humanity jeans are for you! These are the Lyia style jean and don’t have any rips which I find super classy. They are high-waisted and a perfectly faded wash making them easy to wear year-round. I love these jeans paired with black, so I paired them with the same top from look 1. Also, how cool are these netted heels by Schutz?! They’re an amazing price and super versatile, which is always a plus! I sized down one size in the jeans, so I’m wearing a 24.

SHOP LOOK 5:

As most of you know, I am a big fan of grey denim. A grey shade elevates any look and adds a bit of edginess. These Citizens of Humanity straight-leg jeans are high-waisted making them super flattering and versatile. I love pairing this shade with a black top and white accessories in the spring like I’ve done here. I love wearing heels with these jeans since they’re straight-leg, so I’m wearing these beautiful white sandals. This super cool black tee also comes in white and is so fashion-forward! This is more than just your average looking tee because it has shoulder pads. Not to mention muscle-tees are extremely on-trend this year. Best part? It’s under $20! I’m wearing my regular size 25 in these jeans. The tee runs true to size, I’m in an XS.

SHOP LOOK 6 (SHIRT IS ON SALE FOR UNDER $50):

Loving this spring and summer look! I’ve had these Agolde Riley jeans for a couple of years and wear them all the time. I love the raw-edge hem making them a bit edgy and wearing heels with these is my go-to look. I paired these jeans with this amazing white top from Madewell. It is a tie-front style blouse that’s super versatile and easy to throw on with jeans making it a wardrobe basic. I love this top because its a bit different than a normal plain blouse. This look is perfect for working from home and running around in. It’s actually on major sale for under $50 right now – what an incredible price! The jeans run true to size, and I’m wearing a 25. I’m wearing an XS in the top.

SHOP LOOK 7:

These Agolde Nico jeans are probably my favorite skinny jeans I’ve ever owned. When I know I’m wearing sneakers, this is my go-to denim. If I had to pick the most comfortable jeans in my closet, these would be the winners hands down! They are ultra slimming and come in several different colors. I actually have them grey and white, too. I paired these with this black cool-girl hoodie that has an asymmetrical collar and a rose gold zipper! If this hoodie is out of your price range, no worries, this jacket by BlankNYC is a bit more budget-friendly and on sale for under $60! These jeans run big so I sized down to a size 24.

SHOP LOOK 8:

Last but not least, these high-rise jeans are super flattering due to the waistline hitting right above the belly button. I always make sure to look for that feature in high-rise jeans because it holds you in! These are an extremely light wash so I love pairing this denim with pastels and neutrals for the spring and summer months. I paired these Agolde Riley jeans with one of my favorite sheer tops from Nordstrom, and it’s 60% off right now making it under $40! I added an edgy touch to it by wearing a pretty lace bodysuit underneath. I’m wearing a 25 in the jeans and an XS in the sheer blouse.

SHOP LOOK 9:

These are probably the highest rise of all the jeans I’m featuring today, and for that reason I think these J Brand jeans are my favorites. They have a 12 inch rise which is why J Brand calls them the 1212 style. They’re a slim straight meaning they’re a combination of a skinny jean and a straight-leg. They aren’t super tight against the leg but still have a slimming silhouette. I love the wash and the one rip on the knee because it isn’t too overdone. If I had to pick one pair of denim to wear all spring and summer, these would be my top pick! They also come in a charcoal grey. These run true to size, and I’m wearing a 25.
