Looking expensive doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg and it can absolutely be done on a budget! I learned from a very young age, around 16 I’m guessing how to LOOK luxe even though I didn’t have a ton of money to spend on my clothes. In fact, in college, and in my early twenties I was on a tight budget which meant I wasn’t able to spend a great deal of money on my wardrobe. Needless to say, I’ve learned many tips and tricks along the way to looking luxe on a tight budget. I can walk into a store and pick out the most expensive-looking clothes for several reasons I’m going to share with all of you in today’s post. Whether you’re on a budget or just don’t love spending a ton of money on your wardrobe then you’ve come to the right place. I say this in all of my videos “I believe that no matter what your budget you should be able to shop on my channel” which is why I always link budget-friendly versions of what I’m wearing. 1.) INVEST IN A DESIGNER HANDBAG:
As you can see from look most of these looks in today’s post, adding a luxury handbag to any look will automatically make it look more expensive. I truly believe every woman should own at least one investment bag because it will definitely pay itself off in cost per wear. It’s a sure-fire way to look expensive and luxe on a budget!

2.) NEUTRALS FOR THE WIN:
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it over and over again, you can never go wrong with wearing neutral colors and shades. As you probably know by now, I am a huge fan of anything neutral and try to stay away from bright colors and busy patterns. Whether it’s grey, white, black or even leopard, a neutral will make you look more polished, put together, and more luxe. This white blazer is under $200 and a perfect example of looking expensive on a budget!

3.) OPT FOR MONOCHROMATIC LOOKS:
As seen in the above 2 looks, wearing all one color can really up your fashion game! Wearing all of one color, especially when it’s a neutral, is a sure-fire way to elevate any outfit and look expensive on a budget. Also, monochromatic outfits look amazing no matter what your age. You can mix and match so many different things when putting together a same-color look.

4.) ALWAYS ADD A THIRD LAYER:
Adding a third layer like a moto jacket or a lightweight cardigan is a great way to spruce up any look while also looking more youthful. Depending on the jacket you add to your outfit, you can even look a bit more edgy which will also make you look younger as well!
5.) TRY DRAPING YOUR JACKET:
I’m a big believer in draping your jacket or your third layer over your shoulders! It adds a bit of edge to an outfit and is more unique because not everyone wears their jacket draped. I think it looks so cool and luxe. It’s also very flattering as you can see in the photo above with my favorite black blazer.

6.) ALWAYS CHOOSE WRINKLE-FREE MATERIAL:
Wrinkle-free material is hands down the best material you can buy because it’s also hassle-free – you never have to worry about ironing or steaming. That’s why I love this puff-sleeve denim top! Wrinkle-free pieces also make you look sophisticated and more put together without even having to do a thing.

7.) ADD LEATHER TO ANY LOOK:
Even if it’s not real, leather of any kind automatically makes any look appear more expensive. I wear leather on repeat no matter what season because I love it so much! These faux leather shorts are some of my favorites to wear in the summer for date nights and GNOS.

8.) ACCESSORIES ARE KEY:
Adding accessories to an outfit is a no brainer when it comes to fashion. I’ve always been a huge believer in accessories and will say it time and time again – adding accessories is key to any outfit you’re wearing. For example, a belt, layered necklaces or even a fun summer hat can take an otherwise average look with shorts to the next level.

9.) CHOOSE BASICS OVER TREND PIECES:
Like I’ve said in other posts, I believe that any good wardrobe should be made up of mostly high-quality basics (roughly 80%) in order for it to be functional which is why I swear by capsule wardrobes. Since trendy pieces go out of style within 1-2 years, you really want to be sure you’re spending your money on mostly basics you can wear over and over again in the years to come.
10.) STALK YOUR FAVORITE DESIGNERS WEBSITES:
This is most definitely the most important tip of all. And, let’s face it… we’re all probably really good at online shopping by now! Most designer websites have at least one really good sale during the year, whether it’s their half yearly sale, a seasonal sale, or even the Nordstrom anniversary sale. It’s important to always check back so you can get those expensive pieces for budget-friendly prices!
