Happy New Year gorgeous ladies! I can’t believe the holidays are already over, but I’ll have to admit I’m kind of glad, how about you? That being said during the holidays we may not eat as healthy as we usually do so anything we can do to make us look a little thinner is always a good thing, especially this time of year. Today’s look is sure to make you appear at least 10 pounds thinner and I’m going to give you 3 reasons why so you can not only emulate this look, but so you can incorporate these 3 things when you get dressed every day to ensure you’re looking and feeling your best!

HOW TO LOOK 10 POUNDS THINNER:
1.) MONOCHROMATIC NEVER FAILS:
Let’s break the word the monochromatic: mono meaning single and chromatic meaning color so put together this word means dressing in one color. I love mixing different tones of the same color when I create a monochromatic look, this way the look is still interesting and just as striking as a look with different patterns and colors. The reason a monochromatic ensemble it so slimming is that wearing the same color elongates the body and creates one seamless line making you appear thinner and taller, and let’s face it who doesn’t want that?!
2.) WEAR HIGH-WAISTED ANKLE LENGTH DENIM:
These jeans are called ‘The Natasha” and they’re by J Brand, one of my favorite denim designers. These are the hands down the most slimming jeans in my closet, and I have a ton of denim to compare them to! There are 2 reasons they’re so slimming and flattering. First, they are super high-waisted so the make your legs appear longer and thinner because the waistband sits up so high which draws the eye up. I’m such a huge fan of high-waisted denim I literally haven’t bought a pair of jeans that weren’t high-waisted in the last 2 years, no lie! If you’ve never tried a pair of high rise jeans I highly recommend it, trust me, you’ll be glad you did!
The second reason these jeans are so slimming is because of the ankle length meaning they hit your leg right above your ankle bone. The ankle is the one part of the women’s body that is usually slim no matter what your age or size which is why ankle length jeans work so well on almost any body type. I always have ALL of my jeans tailored and cut to this length because it is so flattering. However, these jeans come in this super flattering length so I didn’t even have to have them hemmed which is always a plus. For those of you wondering, I’m only 5’4 so I do have to get most of my denim altered.

3.) WEAR HEELS:
I’m a firm believer that heels not only make you look taller, but they also make you appear thinner. I wear heels 95% of the time because I feel my best in them, more confident and just more like myself which is why I wear them so often. The good news, they don’t have to be 5-inch stilettos to do the trick. A chic wedge, a stunning kitten heel, or even a comfortable block heel will make you appear taller and thinner, so pick your favorite type of heel and wear it as often as possible because it will instantly elevate any look! Even better to match your heels to your pants or jeans or wear a nude heel because this will elongate your legs even more!
