5 Shoe Trends Out of Style in 2025 & What to Wear Instead

First on my list of the hottest 2025 shoe trends is ankle booties with your jeans tucked in. The days of cold ankles are over! Leopard print is another hot trend for 2025, so you’re getting 2 for the price of one in these adorable booties. The exact ones I’m wearing are sold out but I love this very similar pair from Steve Madden with a price point under $100!

Trend No. 3 will have your feet feeling some relief since Sky-high stilettos are out and sleek kitten heels are in! The switch to kitten heels means you’ll be able to be on trend AND comfortable all night (or day) long.

Trend No.4 that is out are bright colored shoes, specifically the Barbie pink color – this look is very 2024, very outdated. I would opt to wear the HOTTEST color of shoe in 2025 instead, which just so happens to be one of my favorites: Burgundy! I’m wearing a stunning pair of burgundy heels by Schutz with a cool wedge heel and a patent leather finish that just screams luxury. Honestly, if I had to pick one pair of heels that are my absolute favorites in my closet these would be them, and they’re also very comfortable!

Platforms had a HUGE moment last year, but the spark fizzled fairly quickly and they’re already feeling a little overdone. I’ll be wearing pointy-toed mules instead which is No.5 on my list of the hottest 2025 shoe trends. This is a classic and elegant design that will never go out of style, and frankly, they’re SO easy to wear! I love this pair by Inez with a sleek stiletto heel and a shiny finish that’s perfect for a night out.
