5 OUTDATED FASHION TRENDS TO AVOID IN 2024 AND WHAT TO WEAR INSTEAD

First on my list of outdated fashion trends in 2024 is the checkered print – think the checkered plaid shackets we saw everywhere last fall. This trend has become a bit played out, so if you want to stay in vogue, I would opt for one of the hottest prints for fall 2024 – Leopard! Cathy’s leopard coat is so insanely gorgeous, it’s something I would imagine a celebrity would wear. The medium brown & black shades are luxe & rich and believe me when I say this fur is SO soft. Cathy wears a size XS and it fits true to size.

Outdated Trend No. 2 is loud in-your-face prints. I’m not a big fan of really loud prints in general because I think they can age you, and even make you appear a little frumpy. Instead, I would opt for an elevated option like this cropped vegan leather trench in the most gorgeous camel shade. It’s from Alice & Olivia so the quality is amazing and I love that it can be worn with or without the belt. I wear an XS and find it fits true to size.

Low-rise jeans have been out for a while, and skinny jeans are going the same way! I’m a bit of a denim connoisseur so trust me when I say these wide-leg jeans from Alice & Olivia can be SO flattering if they’re styled correctly. A few things to keep in mind is to choose a pair that isn’t too long so you don’t have any bunching, make sure they are high-waisted and always opt for a shoe with a heel; weather that’s a platform or a traditional heel. Mustard Yellow was one of the hottest colors for fall 2023, but this year is all about chocolate brown! I have to say I am very excited for this swap since I think chocolate brown is much more luxurious and elevated. This matching set from Camila Coelho is such a great way to wear it – I love the oversized fit of the blazer and the skort is insanely flattering. I wear a size XS in both the blazer and the skirt and they fit true to size.

Last but not least on my list of outdated fashion trends in 2024 are excessively oversized jackets. I’m talking very oversized with little to no shape or structure –  slightly oversized is still safe. This Quince burgundy leather jacket is the perfect example of a really good structured jacket.  It has a price point of $150 which is seriously the BEST PRICE FOR A REAL LEATHER JACKET I’ve ever seen!
