Breast cancer…words you never want to hear. My wonderful Aunt Julie died of breast cancer at age 58 and I lost my sweet Dad to lung cancer at age 71 just a little over 3 years ago – not sure I’ll ever get over the loss of my Dad, we were so close and he was the one person in my life I could always count on. I miss both of them more than words can describe. I heard a stat that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lives, very scary. So please do self examinations – and if you are over 40 you should be getting annual mammograms.
My dear friend in this post, Cathy Williamson, of The Middle Page was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer a little over a year ago. She is currently cancer free and doing wonderful! Thank you God for that! I say all of this because anytime I get a chance to promote a business or product that is willing to donate the proceeds to breast cancer research I’m always more than willing!
We visited the Hair Bar on Royal Lane decked in our pink to promote breast cancer awareness. The Hair Bar will donate $1 from every service to the Susan G. Komen foundation October 1-31. How cool is that? They do a FABULOUS JOB on their blow-outs and make-up ,so if you have a special event coming up or just feel the urge to get pampered, this month is the perfect time to visit the HAIR BAR.
