Another ‘Streed Edit’ is here with my good friend and fellow Dallas Fashion Blogger, Tiffany Davros, of Street Style Squad. We’re excited to be featuring these uber chic jeans by Moussy, the ultimate cool girl jean.
Tiffany and I both LOVE denim and saying that is actually an understatement! We both literally wear it almost every day so we’re always on the hunt for the next best pair. We discovered Moussy available at Shopbop over a year ago and have been hooked ever since. Honestly, no one does distressing like Moussy, literally no one! These jeans are actually made in Japan and they all have a very vintage look and feel, however, the cut of these jeans is very flattering and slimming which is unlike most vintage looking jeans. I have the ones Tiffany is wearing too (check out my post in them titled: THE CHICEST FALL SWEATERS FOR FALL STARTING AT $39. I wear them a ton along with my black ones I just got while I was in NYC a few weeks ago and have worn them a ton ever since!
SHOP MY LOOK:
My black Moussy jeans are mid-rise, perfectly distressed and the faded black wash is super versatile. Another amazing thing about these jeans is that they’re an ankle length which means I didn’t have to get them hemmed which was good because the hemline which you can’t see is actually a little distressed and very cool! Most designer jeans usually cost around $200 and these are a bit more, but when you put them on and see how unique the distressing is you’ll agree they’re worth every penny! Especially if you wear them as much as I do making the “cost per wear” well worth it. They run true to size, I’m wearing a 25.
I paired my uber chic jeans with a cozy and chic faux fur jacket that is only $109, quite a steal for such an amazing jacket! It’s almost sold out, unfortunately, but I love this one too and it’s very similar! I live in faux fur jackets in the winter, they’re not only incredibly warm but they’re super chic too! It runs true to size, I’m wearing an XS.
Ok, I’ve gotten this question a ton so I wanted to address it in today’s post since Tiffany and I are both wearing ankle boots and jeans – what type of ankle boots go with what type of jeans? My biggest pet peeve is when my jeans bunch at the bottom or I feel like my boots are too tall or too short for the type of jeans I’m wearing. I’m sure you’ve been in this style conundrum yourself so read on for three tips on how to wear ankle boots with jeans.
3 TIPS ON HOW TO WEAR ANKLE BOOTS WITH JEANS:
1.) HOW TO WEAR BOOTIES WITH SKINNY JEANS:
Tiffany and I both have on skinny jeans in this post, but we’re both wearing different types of booties proving either kind works with this type of jean. My booties are wider on the top so they fit easily over my skinny jeans. Tiffany’s boots are thinner on top so they fit nicely underneath her skinny jeans. I personally prefer to wear the wider top booties with skinny jeans. I just got these leopard booties and I’m obsessed! I’ve already worn them a ton because they’re actually pretty comfortable because the heel height is pretty low. I loved them so much I had to get the black too!
STYLE TIP: YOU CAN ALSO TRY ROLLING UP YOUR SKINNY JEANS IF THEY SEEM TOO LONG AND GET IN THE WAY OF YOUR BOOTIES.

2.) HOW TO WEAR BOOTIES WITH CROPPED FLARES OR STRAIGHT LEG JEANS:
The infamous sock bootie is the perfect type of bootie to wear with cropped flares or straight leg jeans because they are made to hug your ankle making them very easy to fit underneath your cropped flares or straight leg jeans. WARNING: Unless you’re super tall and super skinny I don’t recommend wearing the crop flared style because it cuts the leg off making you appear shorter and even stocky. That is why you’ll never see me in a pair of cropped flares, I love a good straight leg, but cropped flares make me appear short.

3.) HOW TO WEAR BOOTIES WITH FLARES OR WIDE LEG JEANS:
Traditional flared jeans are probably the most universally flattering jeans on the market. Rachel Zoe is the queen of flares and always looks impeccable in them! You can pretty much wear any type of bootie underneath a wide leg jean because honestly, you won’t even see it. Just make sure that the flare doesn’t bunch up at the bottom and that they’re the right length when paired with your bootie, I tend to always wear mine about 1/8 of an inch of the floor or even barely touching the floor.
