Happy Tuesday ladies! Do you ever wonder what makes an outfit classy and what makes an outfit trashy? I mean come on, we all notice that one chic and classy woman that enters the room and always seems to turn heads right? 9 times out of 10 her outfit is impeccable which is exactly what I’m here to talk about. What it is exactly that makes up a classy look, not a look that is frumpy, or one that screams I’m trying to dress younger than I really am, or I’m trying to hide behind all of my over-sized clothes, but a look that is hands-down the perfect combination of classy and chic. Well, I’ve noticed being a stylist and an influencer for over a decade that ALL CLASSY WOMEN HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON and it’s actually very simple. They avoid wearing these 5 things which I’m about to share with you below so keep reading because how to look chic and classy never seemed so easy. I’m also sharing 7 classy and chic fall looks featuring these simple style tips proving they’re actually very easy to emulate.
SHOP LOOK 1:
7 ITEMS CLASSY WOMEN SHOULD NEVER WEAR:
1.) AVOID WEARING TOO MUCH JEWELRY
As you can see in the look above, I’m only wearing a simple neck stack featuring a gold and silver chain necklace as my statement piece. The exact one I’m wearing by AllSaints is sold out, however, I found this similar one that will go with all of your fall looks. If you want to look modern and fresh, I recommend not going too heavy on the accessories because you definitely don’t want to overdo it. Less is more!
SHOP LOOK 2:
2.) NEVER WEAR TOO MANY TREND PIECES AT ONE TIME:
Instead of wearing too many trend pieces all at once, try wearing mostly basics with one trend piece mixed in. For instance, in the look above I’m wearing a beautiful bomber blazer jacket by Veronica Beard which is my one on-trend piece. The rest of the pieces making up my outfit are classic, modern pieces part of a capsule timeless wardrobe. The jacket runs true to size, I’m wearing an XS.
SHOP LOOK 3:
The one trend piece I’m wearing in this look is my favorite ripped 90’s jeans by Agolde! They are jeans that I’ve worn over and over again and they’re so comfortable and flattering. They run true to size, I’m wearing a 24.

3.) NEVER WEAR CLOTHES THAT DON’T FIT:
Whether it’s too big or too tight, classy women never wear clothes that don’t fit properly. If you own clothes that are too large, I recommend taking it to the tailor so that it’s fitted and chic. My tailored vegan leather suit by Veronica Beard fits like a dream and is one of my personal favorite pieces in my closet to date. My jacket runs true to size, I’m wearing a 0 and my pants run a bit big, so I recommend sizing down one size, I’m wearing a 00.

4.) THEY NEVER WEAR LOTS OF CRAZY LOUD COLORS:
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it over and over again, neutrals are always the way to go! It’s obviously acceptable to wear fun colors, but my recommendation is to pick one piece of your look to incorporate color and the rest be neutral tones. This luxe-looking camel coat is the epitome of what a classy woman wears. It’s also very budget-friendly! To see it styled 3 ways, check out 4 WAYS TO WEAR A CAMEL COAT. This coat runs true to size, I’m wearing an XS.

5.) THEY NEVER CARRY A WORN DOWN HANDBAG:
Your handbag doesn’t have to be a designer bag to be chic and classy! If you notice the handbag I’m carrying in look 6, you’ll see it looks super sophisticated without the designer handbag price tag. Though it doesn’t have to be a designer, it should be in good condition. One of my favorite new bags is this wallet on a chain by Balenciaga. If you’re wanting an affordable option, I love this one, too.
SHOP LOOK 7 (JEANS, TOP, AND HEELS ARE ALL UNDER $100):
This is a great example of carrying a high-quality handbag that doesn’t have to be a designer. I love how gorgeous this bag is and how it looks way more expensive than it really is!
