WHEN DID YOU START YOUR FASHION BLOG AND WHY?
I created my fashion blog in January of 2012 as a way to reach a broader audience than just my personal styling clients. It’s my goal to inspire confident and chic women to look and feel their best one outfit at a time.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT BLOGGING?
Fashion and expressing my personal style! From the time I was a little girl I was very intrigued by clothes, shoes and accessories and how to put them together. My mother said that she would lay out my clothes for the next day the night before and every morning she would come to wake me up and the outfit would be completely redone and look even better.
WHO TAKES ALL OF YOUR PHOTOS?
My photographer is Mary Summers of www.sothentheysay.com. She is fabulous photographer and a fashion and life style blogger as well.
HOW TALL ARE YOU AND WHAT SIZE DO YOU WEAR?
I’m 5’4. I wear a size 0-2 , XS, 25 in jeans, and 7 1/2 in shoes.
WHO DOES YOUR HAIR AND HOW DO YOU GET THE LOOSE WAVES?
My amazing hair dresser is James Fultz, Owner of Reinvention Salon. He has been doing my cut and color for the last 12 years. I get my loose waves by blow drying my hair with a big round brush and then curling 2 inch sections with a Conair Ceramic 1 1/4″ curling iron that I purchased at Target for under $25. You can purchase it by clicking the Shop tab on my blog – it’s under Beauty Products.
WHO CREATED YOUR WEBSITE?

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR SOMEONE WANTING TO START A FASHION BLOG?
Just do it! Don’t wait for things to change or something else to happen, do it now! If it’s something you are really interested in and passionate about then I encourage you to get the ball rolling sooner than later. The first thing I would do is to come up with a creative name for your blog, find a web designer, create a calendar of looks you want to post, and hire a good photographer. The key is to post on a consistent basis. Pick a number of days you want to post every week and stick to that. Post on the same days of the week so that your readers will know when to expect your emails. With hard work and discipline you too can have a successful fashion blog!
HOW DO YOU GET PAID?
I use an affiliate company called Reward Style. They provide me with links that I post to my blog that allow me to get commission on items that are purchased from those links. I get anywhere from 10-15% per item depending on the retailer. I also receive gifted items of clothing or accessories from brands and in return I do a post wearing the item. I only accept pieces that I would actually wear myself and match my style. I never put anything on my blog that I don’t absolutely LOVE.
WHAT DO YOU DO TO STAY IN SUCH GOOD SHAPE?
I’m a firm believer that the size I am has everything do to with the foods I eat. Period. Yes, I also believe that exercise is crucial and very important, not only because it keeps me toned and firm, but it helps me mentally as well. I think that what I eat is about 85% of the reason I’m the size I am, the other 15% is exercise. I do Bikram hot yoga and am obsessed with it. I do it religiously 4 times a week, the other 2 days a week I play tennis, and I take Sunday’s off. Bikram is a 90 minute hot yoga class which takes place in a room that is 105 degrees, so I sweat a ton a feel like a million dollars when I step out of the class room, EVERY time. It’s tough and challenging to say the least, but it keeps me toned and helps me mentally.
I basically live by the Paleo way of eating, I eat mostly fruits and vegetables, little or no red meat and I hardly ever drink alcohol. Here is what I eat on a daily basis: I drink a shake in the morning, every morning no matter what unless I’m traveling. I’m a creature of habit I guess because this is what I eat for breakfast literally every morning. You can get the recipe for my morning shake here. I’m a big snacker throughout the day which keeps my metabolism going. When I get home from yoga or tennis I’ll have some organic mixed nuts and a big glass of coconut water. For lunch I usually have a juice from the GEM (made up of kale, spinach, lemon, ginger, apples, and cucumber) this one is called the GREEN GLOW along with a protein bar or a salad. In the afternoon, I’ll snack on some more nuts, gogi berries, celery and almond butter, dark chocolate covered almonds, or a piece of fruit. For dinner I usually have a protein such as chicken or fish, and a vegetable and or another salad. I don’t drink alcohol that often, maybe a glass or 2 of red wine every 2 weeks or so. It’s just never really been my thing for some reason. My only dietary vice would be my enormous sweet tooth which I inherited from my sweet Dad (pun intended). So, to satisfy my sweet tooth I eat a small dessert only once a day, usually after dinner. It’s often a few cookies, or a small piece of pie or cake. I also LOVE chocolate so I’ll eat a few pieces of dark chocolate too!
It’s different for everyone, and trust me I know it’s not easy, but this regimen works for me. It’s all about finding that balance and what works for you and your body type. I encourage all of you to look at exercise and healthy eating not as a diet, but as a way of life and not just because you’ll look better, but because you’ll feel better too!
