In the fall and winter time one of my favorite things to wear are cozy and chic sweaters!  This one we picked up at Nordstrom is amazing, it’s soft and not itchy (something I always look for before I buy a sweater), and I adore the v-neck line because it allows you to show off your favorite necklace and lace bralette.  This fabulous sweater comes in 5 gorgeous colors all so perfect for fall and the price point is AMAZING, only $39 for this amazingly chic v-neck sweater!!

HOW TO STYLE A V-NECK SWEATER:

There are numerous ways to style a v-neck sweater as you can see from this post.  I love it paired with a mini skirt and a fun hat like Natalie styled it.  This look would be perfect for a Sunday brunch or date night!

I adore how Sam styled it pairing it with a chic pencil skirt and some timeless heels.  Her look would be so good for church or a luncheon, you would for sure be the best dressed one there!

Cathy took a more casual approach and paired this must-have sweater with some casual jeans and some amazing Golden Goose sneakers, wear this look on the weekends or during the week to run errands.

Finally, I paired mine with some of my favorite ripped jeans – these are on SALE, no surprise, (lol), and my new favorite studded pumps by Sam Edelman from Shopbop.  I also added a bit of interest to my look by wearing a black lace bralette under my sweater which I wear all time under all of my v-neck tops, it adds the perfect amount of edge to any look!  I also added my studded Gucci belt to this ensemble, I literally wear this belt all the time making it well worth the investment when you consider the cost per wear.  This look would be perfect for a date night or girl’s night out!

My studded pumps from SHOPBOP deserve a little shout-out because they’re so AMAZINGLY COOL AND EDGY!  The heel height is only 3 inches and the foot bed is padded so they’re actually very comfortable for a heel making them very wearable and a definite must-have!  These killer heels are sure to edge up all of your fall and winter looks!  They’re by Sam Edelman which means the price point is AMAZING making these beauties quite a steal!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SWEET DAD:  Today is my sweet Dad’s birthday and I miss him more than words can express!  I lost him over 7 years ago to lung cancer and my heart still hurts everyday he’s not here.  I want to tell him so many things and I know he would love to hear them.  I Just want to say to all of you who may have lost love ones that I’m sorry and it never really gets easier, you just learn to live without the person somehow.  I guess a lot of praying has helped me and knowing I see will him again one day in heaven helps too!

I’m going to share a few fun things about my Dad and the best piece of advice he ever gave me. My Dad loved clothes and shopping just as much as I do if you can believe that!  The only random place I ever ran into my Dad was in Nordstrom, lol!  I definitely get my sense of style and taste in clothes from him.  He loved leather jackets and jeans almost as much as I do.  He was at every sporting event I ever played when I was little, literally every single one.  I played volleyball, basketball, tennis and soccer growing up.  He was also at all of my kids sporting events cheering them on, it was one of his favorite things to do. He was always there for me, especially during some really hard times in my life such as my divorce, I couldn’t have gotten through that time without his support and my mother’s!  He was my biggest fan, literally, he told me that I could do ANYTHING I put my mind too as long as I worked hard and stayed focused and the older I get the more I know he was right.  Anytime my phone rang before 7 AM I knew it was him, he was the only one that would call me that early for no reason, really just to tell me he loved me and to see how I was doing.  He gave compliments to everyone he saw and everything to him was SO AMAZING!  We could go to any restaurant and he would say “that’s the best place I’ve ever eaten”.  His positivity and charm felt so good to be around.  We share the same favorite foods, pecan pie being at the top of that list!  I’m certain I get my insatiable sweet tooth from my sweet Dad, no pun intended. 

Finally, what he told me when he was on his death bed was that the most important thing in life is LOVE.  Those were his exact words.  I know what he meant by that:  the love that you have for God, your family and friends is what REALLY matters in life, nothing else.  Not material things, but the relationships you have with God and with your family and friends is the one thing that makes life worth living!  Thank you, Dad, for this advice, I’ll keep it in my heart forever!
